No blog post this month.
No projects are quite finished, local store’s closing, and old fat dog is being put down.
Not a great month in potatoland.
Should have something next month.

Sigh. This quickly ceases to be funny. 🙁
Trying to fix, but this happened the day I left home to visit my parents for four days, and my ability to correct things properly from here is limited.
Sorry about the ugly default theme. I’ll try to have everything running again in a few days. 🙁
I can’t talk to anyone about sculpting, because I don’t know any sculptors.
I can’t talk to anyone about drawing, because I don’t know any artists.
I can’t talk to anyone about coding, because I don’t know any coders.
It’s a bit lonely when you’re too awesome for your peers.
*wistful sigh*

Back on Lost Hemisphere, I maintained a list of all currently-available Privateer Press release information in a handy ticker in the sidebar. I did this not as a service, but rather for my own benefit– I could never remember when new models were set to come out, and that gave me a convenient place to stick the information so that I could find it when I needed it. The fact that other people could also refer to it was really just an incidental bonus.
I kept LH’s ticker updated in the months after the blog closed down, but at one point in March I ran into a weird technical issue on the LH server, and decided that rather than trying to fix it over there, I might as well do a bit more work and port the function over to my new site. I even added a few extra bells and whistles to the listing to make it fill out a page, since I didn’t have room for it in my sidebar here and the tiny vertical strip from LH looked really dumb sitting on its own.
And so, if you click the Releases link in my top menu, you’ll be taken to a page that looks like this:

Aside from the filler information about model type and count, which book it’s from, and the MSRP, I’ve also set up a quick icon you can hover over that brings up a thumbnail preview of the model:

One feature that was commonly requested on LH but which I decided not to add was a notation for when during the month models are scheduled to come out– eg, May 15th, instead of just May. I decided against listing this for two reasons– firstly, because the information isn’t usually available when I punch the models in 3 months ahead of time, and I don’t want to have to be constantly checking the Warstore to see if more accurate timing has been put up; and secondly, different pre-order sources tend to list different dates for some items, and I don’t want to get into the mess of “Warstore says the 15th, Malefic says the 29th, WHY U NO LIST MY FAV’RIT SOURCE SPUD”. If you want more accurate timing information, you’re free to do the legwork and look it up yourself.
So, there you go. It’s mostly there for my own use, but if anybody else finds it useful, I guess that’s a nice bonus. 🙂
Yes, I have some new models to show you soon, but I probably can’t post them until next week, as I’m currently prepping for an event on the 25th and terrain-making is eating up all of my blogging time.
Stupid terrain…
I and the rest of the Burlington crew just returned from Templecon. I had a fantastic (albeit exhausting) time, and played a crapton of Army Men while I was there.
Everyone I played got a Succubus for their trouble. There are now 21 of them out in the wild– if you got one, shoot me a photo when it’s painted and I’ll toss a gallery together. 🙂
Thanks for stroking my ego, everybody! 😀
