Mission Briefing

Administrator Jayanti

Commander, there is a matter that wish you to investigate. It is... sensitive in nature.

ALEPH has done what it can to restrict Governor Prescott's secure network access, but he has nonetheless accessed a large amount of classified data. Nearly all of his inquiries relate to a set of secret PanOceanian installations on the Western continent, but for reasons which at first were rather confusing, he also spent quite some time this morning performing a trace on an encrypted transmission.

The transmission originated on Yu Jing comm channels, but the recipient was somewhere within the alien network. This is extremely alarming, especially given recent events.

The Governor was able to trace the circuitous rerouting of the transmission to its source-- a disused ALEPH comm relay on an island of the Yinfeng Archipelago. You are to travel there and prevent the agents of the Evolved Intelligence from having any direct contact with the individual responsible for the transmissions.

Oh, yes-- I should have mentioned. The individual is... known... to ALEPH. The routing program he used is rather unique. This person is extraordinarily dangerous, and should not be trifled with. More importantly, however, his cube is loaded with a decade of stolen information on subjects you cannot even imagine.

Do not allow him to follow into enemy hands.

To make sure of it... kill him yourself.

Good luck, Commander.

Mission Briefing

Superior Delegate
Krasz Volok

The human still thinks to toy with us, Commander.

----- SENDER UNKNOWN. ORIGIN VECTOR TRACED TO PLANET SURFACE-----

Dear filthy monkey,

I'm so sorry that I couldn't make our last appointment, but I do hope that finding your long-lost friends was some consolation. They just looked so gosh-darn lonely in that Habidome, and I'm glad they're once again among their disgusting alien brethren where they belong.

I'm still looking forward to meeting you, though. Would you perhaps have time for tea this afternoon? I've got my fine china laid out and a truly scrumptious array of biscuits that I picked just for you.

Following my last signal didn't seem to be too much trouble for the rock you call a brain, so I trust that you'll be able to repeat that trick again.

See you soon,

-a friend

----- TRANSMISSION ENDS -----

The signal traces back to a location near the southern pole. However, that is not where we are going.

Master?

Node 385/Blue/Abstract

The human hacker is routing his access through 41 dynamically modulating decoy access nodes to evade detection, but our current access into the human data network has allowed me to trace the true source of these transmissions. His true position is a mere 0.0085 rotational degrees from the site where you recovered the Exrah traitors.

I have also analyzed his previous transmission, which originated from a cloaked craft 1.3622 rotational degrees from the orbital research station toward which he directed the Ambassador.

The hacker is clearly attempting to manipulate my forces into assaulting secure facilities with the aim of entering the damaged and disarmed sites unchallenged after they have departed. Were the Ambassador to accept this new bait, the human hacker would surely follow.

This will not occur.

It is unclear what the human aims to find in our wake, given the thoroughness with which my agents have wiped out all traces of the traitors and their stolen technology. I will know the human's goal. You will extract his cube for analysis.

The importance of this mission is... unclear.

Regardless, do not fail.

Also, Ambassador... you will cease to engage in diplomatic activities without my explicit directive.

Coincidental success does not retroactively confer wisdom upon rash behaviour.

Superior Delegate
Krasz Volok

Yes, Beneficience.

I... will be more prudent in the future.

Hmph.

Commander, I have had enough of this creature's games. You will accompany me to his hiding place and destroy anyone who would dare keep us from him.

But you are not to touch the Hacker himself.

He is mine.

I intend to eat his lungs.

Mission Objectives

  • 5 Kill more than 225 enemy Army Points
  • 3 Kill between 151 and 225 enemy Army Points
  • 2 Kill between 75 and 150 enemy Army Points
  • 3 Collect the Hacker's cube
  • 2 Your Spec-Ops either damages an enemy model, or succeeds on a roll that completes an objective.

Terrain

  • A secret ALEPH research facility on the Yinfeng Archipelago.

Deployment & Setup

  • Both players will deploy on opposite sides of the game table, in a standard Deployment Zone 12 inches deep.

Special Rules & Objectives

  • Tech Coffins: There are 5 Tech Coffins scattered around the facility. As a short skill while in base contact with a Tech Coffin, a Specialist model may make a WIP roll to open it. On a failure, the roll may be repeated as many times as necessary, spending the corresponding short skill each time. On a success, the tech coffin opens. Roll on the following chart to determine its contents:
    • 1-8: Antipersonnel mine which immediately explodes, targeting the specialist who opened the Tech Coffin.
    • 9-12: Agent 696. Place him on the board in base contact with the specialist who opened the Tech Coffin.
    • 13-20: E/M Grenade which immediately explodes.
  • If 4 Tech Coffins have been searched and Agent 696 has not been found, he is automatically in the last unsearched Tech Coffin.

  • The Hacker: The human hacker is hiding somewhere in the facility. The Hacker has the following profile:

  • LI
    (Hackable)
    Agent 696
MOV CC BS PH WIP ARM BTS W S
    4-4 17 13 12 14 1 6 1 2
Abilities CH: Camouflage, Hacker, Martial Arts Lv.1, Neurocinetics, Regeneration
    Equipment: Cube, Assault Hacking Device
Weapons: Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines, Assault Pistol, Shock CCW

Agent 696 does not receive an active turn, but may perform AROs against any model he considers hostile (which is everyone). All of his AROs are determined by the reactive player.

At the end of any order that is spent anywhere on the table, if Agent 696 is completely out of the LoF of all enemy models, he will vanish. Replace him with a Camouflage marker and place it 2" closer to the nearest table edge. If Agent 696 reaches the board edge, he will escape the mission site.

  • Collect the Hacker's Cube: Any model may collect Agent 696' cube by reducing him to a Null state with a melee attack or by performing a Coup de Grace against him while he is in the Unconscious state.
  • If any player collects Agent 696' Cube, that player will secure the Ubiquitous Network Node

  • Krasz Volok: Superior Delegate Krasz Volok must be included in the Combined Army's force at a cost of 39pts and 0.5 SWC.

  • MI
    Superior Delegate Krasz Volok
MOV CC BS PH WIP ARM BTS W S

Abilities Morat, AD: Combat Jump, Executive Order, Natural Born Warrior, Specialist, V: Dogged
    Equipment: Cube
Weapons: Vulkan Rifle, D-Charges, Zero-V Smoke Grenades, Pistol, AP CCW

Krasz Volok is a character model and is therefore subject to rules for Character Death.

Battle Prep: Ubiquitous Network Node

Battle Prep rewards apply a bonus to all friendly players during the Week 5 mega-battle.

Benefit: During Week 5, each allied player may place a Deployable Repeater anywhere up to the center line of the board during his deployment.
