  • A PanOceanian suburb.

Deployment & Setup

  • Before the Initiative Roll is made, after both players have chosen their Army Lists, place the following as indicated on the map above:
    • Six Incubators (INC). Incubators must be place BY THE DEFENDER inside of a building, between the edge of the Defender's Deployment Zone and the center line of the table.
    • Six Gakis (GAK). Each Gaki must be placed BY THE DEFENDER, each within 4" of a different Incubator.
    • Two Medical Supply Crates (MED)
  • Both players will deploy on opposite sides of the game table, in a standard Deployment Zone 12 inches deep.

Special Rules & Objectives

  • Incubators: Six Incubators are nestled in dark, secluded locations throughout the map. Any Specialist model may attempt to retrieve the Incubating Embryo from an Incubator by succeeding on a WIP-3 roll while in base contact with it. Models with the Doctor or Paramedic special skill get +3 on this roll. On a success, place an Incubating Embryo marker in base contact with the Specialist model. Once retrieved from an Incubator, any Defending model may take an Incubating Embryo marker from the ground or from a friendly, unconscious, or Immobilized model by moving into base contact with the marker and spending a short skill.
  • At the end of the game, an Incubating Embryo is considered to have survived if it is inside an intact Incubator or if it is carried by a Defending model. Embryos that end the game on the ground are considered destroyed.

  • Destroying Embryos: The Attacker must attempt to destroy as many Incubating Embryos as possible. This can be done by destroying the Incubator that contains an embryo, or by destroying an Incubating Embryo marker that has been removed from its Incubator. Incubators and Embryos have the following profiles:
    • Incubator: ARM 6 - STR 2 - Total Immunity
    • Incubating Embryo: ARM 1 - W 1
  • Gakis: Each Incubator is guarded by a specially-bred Gaki which is trained to recognize a specific clutch of eggs as its own nest. Guard Gakis do not receive an Active Turn, but may make AROs against any model they consider hostile (the Reactive player always determines each Gaki's AROs). Each Gaki starts the game considering all models hostile (and are in return always considered hostile by all players), but any Defending model may use a specially-provided pheromone spray to attempt to gain the trust of a Gaki. To do this, the Defending model must succeed on a WIP roll as a short skill while within 8" of the Gaki and within its LoF. On a success, the Gaki will ignore that Defending model for the remainder of the game. On a failure, the Gaki immediately lunges into base contact with that model and will consider it to be an enemy model for the remainder of the game.
  • Precious Cargo: There are two Medical Supply Crates on the board. Any Specialist model may pick up a Medical Supply Crate from the ground or from a friendly, unconscious, or Immobilized model by moving into base contact with the marker and spending a short skill.
  • At the end of the game, a player secures one Medical Salvage Campaign Reward for each Medical Supply Crate held by one of his models.

Campaign Reward: Medical Salvage

  • 01 - 04 Medikit
  • 05 - 08 Neurocinetics
  • 09 - 12 Total Immunity
  • 13 - 16 AutoMedkit
  • 17 - 20 V:No Wound Incapacitation

Salvage crates secured during campaign missions become available for upgrading friendly Spec Ops models during the campaign. After the mission, roll to check each crate's contents on the salvage chart at right. The rolled upgrade becomes available to be purchased by any ONE allied Spec-Ops during the campaign at a cost of 2XP.
